- RIPTIDE GEAR FUNDRAISER: Show your team spirit and help raise funds for the Riptide.
- Each year, the swim team provides a t-shirt with registration through the support of our generous sponsors.
But over the years we’ve also had lots of requests for a unique Riptide t-shirt, so this year you can show your
Riptide Pride with this awesome purple tie-dye shirt designed by Molly Frogge and Kimm Rountree! This is
a team fundraiser so you can show your spirit and support our swimmers at the same time! If you would like to place an order please print an order form, and return it filled out to Kimm Rountree by June 9 (you can
place your envelope in her folder in the crates outside the pro shop). Checks can be made payable to Ridgewood Riptide.
- For the first time monogrammed sweatshirts and towels with the Ridgewood Riptide and logo are available to
order. (You can also personalize it with your name). Orders submitted by April 20th will be available for the first day of practice. A second round of orders will be available after practice starts. If you would like to
place an order please print an order form, and contact Molly Frogge with You Name It Monogramming. 10% of sales will be donated back to the Riptide swim team!
- Customized personal items to show your spirit! Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and key chains adorned with
your team mascot charm or favorite sport charm. Not into spirit wear? Wear a stylish piece with your team colors. Also bookmarks are soon to come! A portion of each sale benefits the Ridgewood Riptide team. To
order, contact Margaret Scott or visit the My Spirit web page.
- PRACTICES AND MEETS: The practice/meet schedule is on the calendar page. The schedule could change during the season, so check back often for updates.
- DUAL MEETS: For each dual meet scheduled (see calendar) we need families to do the following. Please note that all sign up sheets are located on the bulletin board next to the pro shop:
- Sign up for a volunteer position at the meet. The meets cannot run without volunteers!
- Sign up to bring food or drinks to the swim team breakfast (held after the morning practice on the day of the meet).
- If your swimmer will not swim in a meet, please sign him or her out at least two days prior to the meet.
- TEAM BREAKFAST & PEP RALLY: A team breakfast and pep rally will be held at the Ridgewood Clubhouse on dual meet days except the first meet (
June 15, June 22, June 29, and July 5) immediately after morning practice. Fuel up and get pumped for the meets - Learn some team cheers, make posters, and let those
other pools know that we’ve got Riptide spirit!
- OF WALL THINGS FUNDRAISER: Our own Michelle Lalumondier’s company, Of Wall Things, is offering an
opportunity for you to support Ridgewood. For the entire month of July, 15% of all sales made through her company will be donated to the Ridgewood Swim Team, so come support the Riptide by checking out Ms
Lalumondier’s innovative wall decorations on her website. There are several new boards available celebrating the swim team.
- SWIM FOR CANCER:
Swimmers, please check your folder next to the pro shop for your Swim for Cancer pledge envelope. The Ridgewood swimmers will be doing their laps on Thursday, June 17th in place of the
regularly scheduled practice. This is the 37th year for this annual event in Greensboro. $2.4 million dollars have
been raised to support cancer research since the inception of this CSA fundraiser event. Last year, Ridgewood had
wonderful participation in this event! Ridgewood Riptide raised $5,061 towards the fight against cancer research.
This year, let's do our best to achieve or surpass that goal! Each Ridgewood swimmer can ask for a pledge per lap
donation or a fixed donation from friends, family, and neighbors. I want to encourage all swimmers to do their best to raise money toward this worthy cause.

(HELD DURING RIDGEWOOD's REGULARLY SCHEDULED MORNING PRACTICE TIMES) TURN-IN DONATION PARTY: RIDGEWOOD POOL; THURSDAY, JUNE 24TH DURING EVENING PRACTICE If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Groves.
